When should I take my child to the dentist for the first check-up?

According to the Alberta Dental Association, children should begin to see the dentist within six months of their first tooth or by one year of age.

What is the difference between a pediatric dentist and a general dentist?

Pediatric dentists have more years of specialty training

How often does my child need to see a pediatric dentist?

A checkup every 6 months is recommended. However the pediatric dentist will let you know how often you will need to bring your child in based on personal oral health.
